The Jikeleza Dance Project founded in the hopes of providing children in the Hout Bay community with after school activities in order to keep them occupied and off the streets. In the past few years we have grown in such a way, that our services have exceeded that which we initially set out to do. We currently assist in education and transport, as education we believe is the core. We have succeeded in placing kids in different schools where more is offered in the form of extracurricular activities as well as financing specialised classes where the need arises. In addition to this we also provide transport to school for our kids outside of the Hout Bay area.

We feel very strongly, that by investing in these young lives we are building a stronger society. We have regular performances exposing them to the arts as well as equipping them. After matric our kids are encouraged to get a tertiary education. Jikeleza applies for scholarships and bursaries, as well as contributing financially, as the families are not by means to.
